Artist Statement

Thank you for taking the time to view my work.  I first began to seriously paint and sketch 10 years ago.  I am a self-taught artist who went back to school in 1998 at the University of Vermont to study art and to further refine my skills.  I found the experience to be very enriching and rewarding.   My work is available in a variety of mediums ranging from acrylics, charcoals and watercolor.  I enjoy painting and sketching a variety of subject matter including still life and landscapes but also allow myself the freedom to paint the whimsical side of life.  I have recently allowed my creativity and emotions to enter the world of abstract painting, which is something I have never done before.  I just recently completed a series of acrylic paintings on canvas named " Raw Emotions", this is a very personal series, it involved emotions that were felt due to my father's terminal illness and passing.  The experience of this series was personally rewarding and brought me to a new level of painting. The majority of my work is done either by direct observations or through memory, although I occasionally use photographs.  I am also available for commissioned work.
